Abstract Art Pillow from Society6

Tuey Abstract Art on Society6

Society6 is print-on-demand website where you can find artwork on variety of products such as pillow, mobile case, pouch, leggings, t-shirt. I, as an artist, always want to have my own work printed on products.

Since I am working on 100 days of painting project, I scanned some of artworks from this project and uploaded them to sell and, of course, ordered one for myself. I ordered pillow with cat scratch artwork which is one of my favorite. I am so happy when I saw my painting become something in my everyday life. The quality is quite good. It’s better than I thought. It took about 2 weeks for pillow to arrive.

You can check out the products at https://society6.com/tuey and let me know what you think about them. I will keep adding more of my artwork. If you want to order my painting that it’s not on Society6 please let me know. 😉

Project 2 of #100DIYprojects : Magnetic bookmark

#100DIYProjects is my challenge to create something for 100 projects in a year. You can follow my progress here on the blog or on Instagram #100DIYprojects.

As I mentioned on Craftspace Weekend post last week that I’m going to challenge myself to do 100 DIY projects in a year. The key cover I post last week is the 1st project I have done. For the 2nd project, I try not to pressure myself too much. I think, in order to finish this challenge on time, I need to let go perfection and do more work.

The magnetic bookmark come with Zequenz notebook. It’s full of text and not pretty at all. The easiest and cheapest is decorate the magnetic with Washi tape.

Project 2 of #100DIYprojects : Magnetic bookmark

I mask it with white masking tape first so texts and black color from bookmark will not show up after I use Washi tape. Then decorate it with Washi tape and trim the bookmark.

After finished this bookmark, I got a lot of ideas to play more with this bookmark. I will share you more when I’ve done it.

I now feel more confident about this challenge when I finish 2 projects of this challenge. Although it’s only 2 steps I’ve done, it give me big picture of what I can do it. I’m thrilled to reach this goal and play along with this journey.

Organize String, Twine, and Cord with Washi tape & fabric

Organize string, twine and cord with DIY cord keeper | Tueymeaw.com

I got a box full of tangled twine and ribbon. I have thought of ways to organize it for awhile but have no idea how to do it. Then I found this silicone cord keeper and I think I can made my own version of this with steel wire!

What do you need?

  • Washi tape or fabric
  • steel wire
  • E6000 glue if you use fabric

Let’s do it!

I will start with Washi tape. Cut the wire about 15 cm. The length of wire can be adjusted. Then attach Washi tape to wire left both end space about 2 cm. to secure the wire.

Attach another side of wire with Washi tape.

Cut the end of Washi tape in V shape.

You will get a Washi tape strip with wire inside that will help you keep twine and string organized.

You can also use fabric to make this. Start with cutting fabric to size you want. I use what I already have which is fabric I got when I made my Tueydori notebooks.

Next, glue fabric together with steel wire inside 2 pieces of fabric by using E6000 glue. Since my fabric is very long, I fold it and glue them together. Wait for 15 minutes to dry.

Tueydori, Midori Traveler’s Notebook

To do list and planner are necessary things in my life. I need them to guide me what I need to do next. I try a lot of task managements and planners but never find one that fit my style. So I made one for myself years ago. And I always develop my system until I found bullet journal. It’s perfect way to take note and record my to do list but it’s not perfect for planning future. When I use bullet journal, my notebook is filled very quickly.

Then I found Midori Traveler’s Notebook which is a notebook that combine small notebooks in one notebook. I love this idea so much but I’m not sure that it would work perfectly for me and the price is a bit high. I use fabric instead of leather to made one for myself to try if I like it or not and call it “Tueydori” since I made it. It turn out I made at least 5 notebooks! Today I will show you 4 “Tueydori” I made.

Tueydori, Midori Traveler’s Notebook

The first notebook is white background with pink floral. I use elastic sized 2mm. to hold notebooks from MUJI.

The second one is dark blue background with floral. I made a pocket inside the cover to hold small paper and use smaller elastic. After trying various size of elastic, I think 2mm is too big and 1mm is too small to hold A6 notebooks. I’m now looking for 1.5mm elastic on online shop but can’t find. I think I need to go to market to buy it.

The third notebook I made, I use faux leather as a cover. I found it’s very hard to sew  leather. If leather is not tight enough, the line will show up.

The last notebook is notebook I currently use. It’s white background with gold floral. Since 1mm elastic is too small to hold my notebook I go back to use 2mm elastic again and cut a longer fabric to make it as a cover.

Craftspace Weekend : week33

I plan to buy more fabric from Pahurat, the largest fabric market in Bangkok, when I have a budget for that. Before that time, I have a lot of ideas to made more interesting notebook. I also thinking about give notebook that I didn’t use to my friend that asked me to make a notebook for her long time ago. I’ll update more notebook later.

Thank you for stopping by.

DIY Temporary Stamp from Wood Veneer

Since today is holiday in Thailand, I move my Craftspace Weekend this week to Wednesday and I’m going to share how to make a temporary stamp that you can make it fast.

One of reasons I love stamp is that you can make it easily myself from what you already have. Last time I share you how to use craft foam to make stamp. Today I will show you how I use my wood veneer to make a stamp. However this stamp work well for temporary when you want nice pattern and shape quickly but don’t have enough supplies.

DIY Stamp from wood veneer

Let’s start with supplies you need:

  1. Ink pad. For now I only have black Stazon.
  2. Paper
  3. Stamp block. Mine is from  La boom, a local scrapbook shop
  4. Washi tape
  5. Wood veneer

Choose wood veneer you like. Then make small loops of tape with adhesive facing out and stick masking tape loops on the back of wood veneer.

Attach it to stamp block and you will get a temporary stamp. If you want it to be more permanent you can attach it to cork like I did with the craft foam stamp.

Decorate Notebook Cover with DIY Stamp

I have not updated my English blog for couple month since I decided to focus and put energy more on my Thai blog. However I miss writing in English sometimes especially when I just wrote DIY tutorial for my Thai blog and would like to share them here.

How to Decorate Your Notebook Cover

I have been finding a planner that would fit my lifestyle for a while then I found Midori Traveler’s Notebook which is a notebook system that allow you to collect  smaller notebooks in one place. At first, I’m not sure if I would love it or not so I ended up DIY it. I found it so fun to created your own #Fauxdori. Now I got 3 Fauxdori and 10 small notebooks to put in my Fauxdori.

And to make my Fauxdori more interesting, I have an idea to decorate my A6 notebook that I put in my Fauxdori. I choose to decorate a notebook from MUJI that I planned to use it as “Idea book” to write down all ideas I have.

How to Decorate Your Notebook Cover

Before get started, you might need a few materiel to make it.

  1. Acrylic color
  2. E600 glue
  3. Cork
  4. Craft foam
  5. Brush
  6. Notebook

Since I didn’t know what color combination to use here, I tested them on paper first. Today I decided to go with pink neon and gold.

How to Decorate Your Notebook Cover

Let’s start the first start. I painted pink as background color and repainted again when first layer dry.

How to Decorate Your Notebook Cover

While waiting for color to dry, I draw star on craft foam. It could be anything. If you want small stamp, it shouldn’t be too detailed because we’re going to use acrylic color as stamp color. Then cut your drawing and glue it to a cork. Waiting for 5 minutes you will get a stamp!

Next step is the best part!

Use your brush to paint gold colour on your stamp instead of just dip it to colour so colour will not stick to star corner which you will not want it. Then stamp it! You can create pattern as you want.

BONUS!

You can paint front edge of a notebook with gold colour too! Don’t forget to using washi tape to masking your paper before painting it will help you shape your painting.

Now you get vibrant notebook. I use this notebook as an ideas notebook and I feel happy for my ideas every time I open this notebook. This is the easiest way to boost my mood 🙂

Valentine Cards for him

He always complain that I interested in cat more than him so I created this card for him. And he really love it! 😀

I painted water colour as based paper and attach white thick alphabet stickers. Then I painted alphabet sticker with water color. I draw cat instead of using word to make it cute and easier to understand.

Inside of card, I filled it with Washi tape. I draw heart balloon on paper and cut it and put it on card. On the right side of card, I  wrote message to him and cut it each row then put them together on card.
